Hi Julian,

Any help would be much appreciated, John seemed to have moved around a bit,

his records were all destroyed, so i am trying to piece together his career.

I lost track of him after october 1916 until his death in aug 1918 when i think he went to 165 brigade RFA he certainly died of wounds while serving with 165 but when he joined i've no idea.

Regards Eskimo :)

Eskimo,

I owe you a great apology, now that I've looked it up my gt gfthr was indeed A battery but 265 rather than 165.

265 was in Palestine with 53rd Div - and seeing another thread, they didn't go to Gallipoli but went to France then to Egypt in early 1916.

I'm too busy dealing with my grandfathers papers and have not done much on gt gfthr !!

sorry not to have been of any help

Julian
