delboy Posted 30 November , 2010 Share Posted 30 November , 2010 Colleagues Can anyone give me some info as to why the Tyneside Scottish quickly changed their first pattern cap badge to the well known ones with the St Andrews cross? Graham Stewart Posted 30 November , 2010 Share Posted 30 November , 2010 Basically because it was felt that the first pattern badge wasn't 'Scottish' enough in it's appearance compared with badges worn by other units.

Graham Thanks for the reply, which helps me alot in understanding this issue, seems trivial to us but abviously meant a hell of alot to those in the 'Tyneside Scottish' at that time. Is there any particular book you would recommend on the Tyneside Scottish? Regards Delboy
