Hello All

Just picked up this set, not conversant with British Badges, just wondering if they are WW1 or WW2 or a mixture, crowns are slightly different, buttons are marked Birmins LP London

Regards

There was a Colour Sgt William E.D. Plummer serving with the Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry during the Great War. The National Archive indicates his number was 747 but the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust site have his number as 202623 as per the dog tags in your possession. This would suggest they are Great War items.

Further digging has a possible William Edward Drant Plummer born in the June quarter of 1879 in the District of Southam. In 1901 he was living in St Giles, Oxford & working as a Bank Clerk. In 1911 he is living in Banbury.

Medal Card on Ancestry has him as William Edward Deane Plummer - commissioned 29/9/17 into ASC/RASC

Entered France 29/3/1915 as 747 Ox and Bucks LI

Address on back 42 North Bar (I'm pretty sure) Banbury, Oxon

Cheers

Sue
