wiking85 Posted 29 November , 2010 Share Posted 29 November , 2010 Does anyone have any books about this subject? There seem to be a few on the Western Front, but little to nothing on the Eastern one. One of the pieces of information that I am currently looking for is the progression of Russian rail construction in Galicia in 1914-1915. IIRC an American reporter talking about the siege at Przemysl mentioned that the Russians had built rail lines around the fortified zone to support their offensive in the Carpathians. That was February again IIRC. Any ideas folks?
bob lembke Posted 30 November , 2010 Share Posted 30 November , 2010 I could give you a few leads on German logistics, but Russian logistics would be a tough one. Possibly the A-H official history, Letzter Krieg? Bob

James A Pratt III Posted 11 January , 2013 Share Posted 11 January , 2013 If you go down on this section to the posting on the Austro-hungarian army there you can find a posting which links you up with the "Effectiveness of Military institutions volume I WW I" Which is a little techincal but is interesting reading and deal with all the major combatants of WW I except Austria-hungary.
