Hi I have a khaki sd cap which has a light brown chin strap with brass sliders and GS worn butons. The inside of the cap is black and what appears to be black oil coth liner with a white stamp 221 with W ARROW D AND THEN THE LETTER P ABOVE. The visor is green inside at one time it had a backing plate behind the badge slider but it has been removed .It also has a wire running around the inside to keep the cap ridged. It has a Duke of Cornwalls light infantry badge unknown weather this is original to the cap. I was given it over 20 years ago. Sorry no photos available at the moment. Any ideas

I think that 'P' refers to the fact that it is headgear. The '221' may refer to the date but you will need greater expertise than mine to help you there. I'm guessing that it's post-WW1. Antony
