ss002d6252 Posted 13 November , 2010 Share Posted 13 November , 2010 Following some of earlier posts regarding the casualty reports I recently discovered I'm trying to locate a map of the location of 3 of the burials. The location is given as about 1 mile E. of Fortuin, 1/40000 map, Trench Map Sheet 28.D.16.d. . Does anyone have a copy of the map of this location ? EOHMacgowan Posted 7 March , 2011 Share Posted 7 March , 2011 Hi, My Great Uncle, Pte E.O.H.Macgowan, 43rd Battalion, AIF, was buried "In the Field" at Trench Map Sheet 28.D.16.d.3.4. Refer to my Great War Forum blog titled "Trench Map Sheet 28.D.16.d.3.4, last posting dated Nov 18 2010. There is quite a lot of information there about this Trench Map reference. Any chance the three burials you are researching are of the 43rd Battalion, AIF? Cheers, Phil.
