Jonathan_NW Posted 12 November , 2010 Share Posted 12 November , 2010 Can you post everything you know about him? A service number perhaps? I'm assuming that you have something that links him to 5/South Lancs? Some of the people here are fantastic at finding information from even the scantiest of clues. The only record we have is on his son's birth certificate giving the Rehiment but no number. The address is the confirmation. VERY many thanks The only James Twist in the S. DaveR Posted 14 November , 2010 Share Posted 14 November , 2010 His number is the one from the 1917 renumbering, 24xxxx being for 5th South Lancs. He will have had a 4 digit number when he enlisted.
