Admin kenf48 Posted 26 October , 2010 Admin Share Posted 26 October , 2010 My grandfather was one of four brothers, the eldest served in "C "Company (Kettering Detachment) 2nd Volunteer Battalion, The Northamptonshire Regiment. Curious about the Volunteer Corps I found the Official Regulations for Volunteer Training Corps and County Volunteer Organisations (England and Wales) [1916] are available online http://www.archive.o...ulati00centrich An interesting read, on p.18 there is an extract from a Home Office circular to 'certain Lord Lieutenants', dated 30/11/1914 which outlines Government Policy, it begins:- 'The policy of the Government is to encourage every man to take his part in the present struggle.' As ever there was what we would call today "no additional funding". Ken
