Admin Michelle Young Posted 22 October , 2010 Admin Share Posted 22 October , 2010 The Old Contemptibles Association had that inscribed round the rim where yours has the laurels, no crown and 1914 in the bit where yours has W.S.C, so probably not an OCA lapel badge. The only thing which is coming to mind and is probably way off beam is Winston Spencer Churchill! Michelle
FROGSMILE Posted 22 October , 2010 Share Posted 22 October , 2010 Can anybody ID what WSC means? sorry forgot to add this pic! Just a guess, but perhaps it relates to 'War Service Comrades'. I recall that those on vital 'war service' (munitions etc) had various patterns of brass lapel badge (with unique serial numbers) between 1914-18 and they might conceivably have formed a comrades association post war to mirror that created for the soldiers. 4thGordons Posted 22 October , 2010 Share Posted 22 October , 2010 During WWII "WSC" was the abbreviation used on some bayonets for Wilkinson Sword Company but I suspect Frogsmile's idea is most likely (although I suppose it could have been for employees of WSC) Chris
