Bardess Posted 5 October , 2010 Share Posted 5 October , 2010 Remembered. I noticed that the CWGC entry for Lieut Massy doesn't have his age but it is in the newspaper clipping
chrisharley9 Posted 5 October , 2010 Share Posted 5 October , 2010 Diane CWGC will not accept newspaper reports as proof of age. Having found one of the lads who was reported as dead on active service in the Times alive & kicking you can understand that. One of the other problems with using the Times death notices as a source for IFCP cases in that the families were not always truthful about the cause of death. Died of wounds does not always mean that. Did you get my note about Krotzky whom you discovered from the WW2 list? Chris
Bardess Posted 5 October , 2010 Share Posted 5 October , 2010 Chris, understood re Times notices. I don't 'visit' as much as I should but seeing what you discovered is mind-blowing. Thanks so much
