A job well done, Andy.

A few details about private Sheil, though. I googled his name, because I was intrigued by his cause of death. Assuming it's the same man (he passed away the same date) this website has his first name spelled "Denis" and his age 47...

Kevin Mullarkey was one of five brothers to enlist in the first war. He embarked from Australia on 26 June 1915 after joining on 7 April 1915. Also on board was another of the brothers, James, who enlisted the day before the landing on Gallipoli.

Kevin was assigned to the 20th Battalion and was wounded at Pozieres. The young soldier returned to Australia on 22 February 1917 and lost his final fight a little over a year later.

Of the other three brothers, Herbert was killed in action at Pozieres on 18 August 1916 with the 4th Battalion. Nial was killed in action in France on 5 November 1916 serving with the 1st Battalion. Neither has a known grave. This left Clarence, he was also returned to Australia on 11 March 1916 suffering from Enteric Fever.

James didn't come out unscathed either, however, not due to wounds or illness. He returned to Australia in April 1917 after asking to go home. Have a look at his service records, it will make you cry.

'My four brothers and myself left Australia at various times during the year 1915. Two of them have been killed.......... and two permanently disabled.......... My wife died since I left which means that my own and my mothers affairs are in a confused state."

This is why it is a privilege and such an honour to be able to bring them in from the cold.

Cheers Andy.
