battiscombe Posted 4 September , 2010 Share Posted 4 September , 2010 I am trying to find out about a Charles Edward Chick MSM - commissioned into RGA in July 1918 (LG lists 15/7/1918 ..only likely MIC says 1917, no mention of MSM.. but indicates from Durham TF RGA ).. wondering if it possible to find out more about his award, or indeed about him (perhaps someone out there with an interest in Durham RGA? .. I seem to remember some discussion of Hartlepool Heugh Bty). thanks
Doug Johnson Posted 4 September , 2010 Share Posted 4 September , 2010 He has two MIC's, the MSM will be on the other one. Search with his surname and his number. Doug
SteveE Posted 4 September , 2010 Share Posted 4 September , 2010 MSM was promulgated in the London Gazette #30450, 1st January 1918. Link to it is here...http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/30450/supplements/68. The Medal Card for it is available on Ancestry, indexed under C E Chick. It confirms he was with 142nd Hy. By. RGA (TF) which was the Durham RGA (TF). Regards Steve

battiscombe Posted 5 September , 2010 Author Share Posted 5 September , 2010 I was wondering if this might be a MSM on this cadet - likely to be of his Cadet course (only one cadet in the commission list with a MSM) - and hence possibly Cadet Chick. Not too sure what else it might be ..
