Anyone from Deptford who can help?

Hi,

I am researching the officers and men of the 2nd Battalion, The Lancashire Fusiliers who served in 1914, one of the casualties was Private 2048 William Andrew Barber, whose death was assumed on 3rd November 1914. I am fairly certain he actually died circa August 26th 1914 and was listed missing initially. He was born in Deptford and was the son of Mrs. E. Barber, who in IWGC records lived at 33, Hosier Street, off Church Street, Deptford, London. William was amongst 2/LF's mentioned in a Manchester Guardian casualty list 21/10/14, as missing. If anyone who may be researching Deptford casualties etc or undertaking research at Deptford is able to check through the local paper to that area for September to the end of November 1914 for any article on Pte Barber it would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks Neil
