StuartWatts Posted 27 August , 2010 Share Posted 27 August , 2010 Hi, can anyone point me to where or how I can find the War Diary for the 1st Battalion The Sherwood Forresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment)? I am researching my relative Edward (Edwin) Charles Mapley who fell on 15th Feb 1915 (service number 11326) I believe his sacrifice is commemorated at Le Touret Military Cemetery, Richebourg-l'Avoue. Many thanks for any assistance. Stuart Watts
Robert Dunlop Posted 27 August , 2010 Share Posted 27 August , 2010 Hi Stuart. The good news is that there is a war diary. It is WO 95/1721 at the National Archives, Kew. The bad news is that the diary is not available online. It is easy enough to obtain a reader's ticket (see here). Then you can read and/or photograph the relevant parts of the diary that are of interest to you. Robert
