swadmark Posted 27 August , 2010 Share Posted 27 August , 2010 Having discovered my great uncle James Fenwick a while ago now in the 1/4th and 1/5th Northumberland fusiliers i am curious as to his role as a specialist signaler? As there was a divisional signals company in the brigade what would his role have been compared to theirs? As he joined 3rd/4th in November 1915 transferring companys when he qualified in January 1916 what would have been involved in becoming a specialist signaller...would he have been an ordinary signaller or just a soldier before qualifying and what was involved in training etc? +
Robert Easeman Posted 31 August , 2010 Share Posted 31 August , 2010 Have you tried the Royal Corp of Signals Museum. The main one is at Blansford Forum, Dorset. Although I believe the is one in Surrey. I am sure they would be able to help Bob
