Remembered Today:

Oliver COULTAS - Yorkshire Light Infantry

Afternoon all. My wife and I have just returned from a great weekend in Belgium. Stayed at Du Panne but covered a lot of miles around Ypres looking at battle sites, CWGC localities and drinking and eating a lot (not least Westvalleteron 12 at the abbey bistro!!). Whilst in Ypres my wife forced me to buy a pair of medals from the chap who has the shop down near the cloth hall. She wanted them because they are to a Yorkshire Light Infantry man (and she is from that county). Nobody in Ypres had a cap badge to match but we picked one up from the cafe at Hooge. I have found the medal card but wondered if anybody had anything further on:

Private Oliver COULTAS (39168) Yorkshire Light Infantry. Entitled to the pair.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best regards.

Can't find any records (apart from MIC) remaining for him.

Only 2 Oliver Coultas' on the 1911 census - one aged two, and the other aged 12 and born in Durham, West Hartlepool.

Thanks Kim - kind of you to reply. So our man could have been from Durham.

Great stuff.
