JeroenConijn Posted 23 August , 2010 Share Posted 23 August , 2010 Hello, In Belgium I found a wooden box - I think ww1 - which was owned by Arhur Emoine (on the box is written Emoine Arthur). And further more: 1e reg. de lanciers / 3e escadron. Can somebody confirm me that this is a box of a soldier from ww1? And perhaps can tell me more about Arthur Emoine, and his regiment? I would be very pleased. Thanks Jeroen

JeroenConijn Posted 25 August , 2010 Author Share Posted 25 August , 2010 In the dust I also saw the letter L. So it is Arthur Lemoine...
Robert Dunlop Posted 25 August , 2010 Share Posted 25 August , 2010 The 1e reg. de lanciers was a Belgian cavalry regiment that fought in the Great War. It was garrisoned at Namur before the war. Unfortunately, this does not prove that Arthur Lemoine fought in the war. What a wonderful piece of memorabilia. Presumably there were no photographs or papers inside?
