My Great Uncle

Good Evening

I am trying to locate a map/trench reference where my great uncle was wounded in action and then subsequently died from his injuries. He was Arthur John Terry who was in the Battalion1/5 of the Glosters.

He was in the following location f.15 a.6.3. to F.15.b.8.24 in the village of LEMPIRE , in the Somme. He was wounded on April 8th 1917. Then transferred to No2 general Hospital in Le Harve where he died from his wounds on 26th April 1917, aged 20 years. I would so like to be able to visit this location and pay my respects. he was buried in Le Harve cemetary.

I would appreciate some guidance

Hello, Mike. Do you mean you want to visit Le Havre (not Harve) or Lempire? Le Havre is easy enough to find on the west coast of France. Lempire is in department Aisne in Picardy a bit east north east of Peronne. Hope this helps. Antony
