muppet Posted 21 August , 2010 Share Posted 21 August , 2010 Had some great help from this forum with regards to my Gt Uncle Robert William Francis 13133 killed 5th Feb 1917 France. On his death he was with the 1st Batt Essex. Today I found a silk postcard written by him, no date, he puts his address (?) as 9 batt Essex Reg BEF A coy. The front of the postcard has the date 1915. He says he is in the trenches and cannot write more. Can anyone out there shed some light as to where his company may have been in 1915? Has A coy any significance as to where they were? There is no stamp or postmark. Many thanks
