alf mcm Posted 19 August , 2010 Share Posted 19 August , 2010 Hello Rachel, There is a medal record card for Private Oswald Bond, service number 64947 Lancashire Fusiliers. He served abroad at some time after January 1916. He was awarded the British War Medal and British Victory Medal. Unfortunately, his service records do not seem to have survived. alf mcm Posted 19 August , 2010 Share Posted 19 August , 2010 Rachel, The medal record card shows the Medal Roll for Oswald's medals. This is the reference Roll H/1/101 B30 Page 6242. This roll should show which Battalion Oswald was serving in. From this you can find out where he is likely to have served by referring to the information in the Long Long Trail. The Medal Rolls are not available online, they are held at Kew. Some Forum members are regular visitors to Kew, and will look up the Medal Rolls for you. I would suggest you start a new post, in the 'documents and recordslookup' request section of the Forum, asking if someone could do a lookup for you.
