Seany Posted 19 August , 2010 Share Posted 19 August , 2010 I know that the IWM hold the private diary of Signaller J. Bennett 109777 who served in the RGA and I think in 293 SB - not fully sure of that - their reference is 4162. He may have served with my Grandfather who was a gunner in the 293rd and whom I am currently researching. It's a long way to London, so, does anyone already have a transcript that I could read??? I'm also interested in any info of others who served in 293rd as I'm trying to understand more about his comrades. Thank you for any help.

Seany Posted 19 August , 2010 Author Share Posted 19 August , 2010 thanks I've seen that link, surprised no-one picked up on the possible discussion around the memoir by Ronald Skirth which seems errorful in many respects. I'm just hoping that someone out there may have already transcribed the diary. I am planning a trip to IWM to look through their extensive photo collection re RGA - already have a number of items their very helpful researcher found that can be attributed to 293rd but always hoping to find more.
