clive_hughes Posted 16 August , 2010 Share Posted 16 August , 2010 I am doing a bit of research at the moment into a soldier who was discharged in April 1915 (sickness). The Silver War Badge was introduced in Sept 1916 I believe, but this chap didn't receive his until 1920 according to the SWB Ledger and the slip which came with the badge. His MIC card has the not uncommon reference to "AO 29/19"; so did this Army Order confirm/alter his eligibility for the badge 3-4 years after discharge? Or in other words, exactly what does this Order say? LST_164

themonsstar Posted 17 August , 2010 Share Posted 17 August , 2010 The Army Order;AO.29/1919 was issue January 1919. The missing bit says "No 4 Army Order 291 of 1918 is hereby cancelled"
