Admin Michelle Young Posted 6 June , 2004 Admin Share Posted 6 June , 2004 Yesterday (was it only yesterday?) I visited Louvencourt Cemetery, and was wondering where the brass plate that used to be on the grave of Bertie Prowse has got to? How long has it been missing? I assume that it has been pinched, I think the large brass laurel wreath that was on a grave in Ancre Cemetery has gone as well.
Paul Reed Posted 7 June , 2004 Share Posted 7 June , 2004 I am really sorry to read this, as it was there last September when I visited the grave with the Somerset WFA branch. The plaque you mention on Vere Harmsworth's grave was returned; and is back in its rightful place. Have you contacted CWGC about this?

Admin Michelle Young Posted 15 June , 2004 Author Admin Share Posted 15 June , 2004 I have heard from the CWGC, they told me that the plaque was stolen in March this year. They also told me that they have ammended the register, as it included information that the plaque was in situ on the grave.
