roypaule Posted 12 August , 2010 Share Posted 12 August , 2010 12 AUGUST 2010 MY DEAR FRIENDS, THERE'S A WWI MERCANTILE MEDAL NAMED TO A WILLIAM D. MILLS. HE WAS A SECOND OFFICER AND SUPPOSEDLY KILLED ON 7/9/40 WHEN HIS SHIP THE SS JOSE DE LARRINAGA WAS TORPEDOED. BUT I COULD NOT FIND ANY DOCUMENTS FROM THE CWGC TO ATTEST TO THIS FACT. COULD I RESPECTFULLY ASK ANYONE WHO COULD GIVE ME SOME DOCUMENTS THAT HE DIED WHEN THE SHIP WENT DOWN? MUCH APPRECIATED, ROY
daggers Posted 12 August , 2010 Share Posted 12 August , 2010 Roy Your query relates to a merchant seaman and not a soldier, so is in the wrong part of the Forum, and in any case this Forum is concerned with 1914-18, not '39-45. Someone will be able to steer you towards a WW2 forum, I'm sure. Best wishes D
