Remembered Today:

1st Italian soldier - Yorkshire regiment

GRANVILLE

Recommended Posts

I recently posted a similar thread in connection with a black soldier and a Yorkshire regiment. This, on behalf of someone trying to research the subject further. The same gentleman has now come back to me to inform that he now believes the soldier concerned was Italian, and not black. Doh! There is apparently some mention, on a memorial at Golders Green.

I can but ask..........

Not a Yorkshire regiment, admittedly, but could it possibly be THIS chap?

Alternatively, it could easily be a British sephardic jew buried or commemorated in a local jewish cemetery?

Many thanks for this input, which sounds as if it might just be the chap we are looking for. I will relay the information. Thanks once again.
