(nzef) Posted 4 August , 2010 Share Posted 4 August , 2010 Hi All, I'm starting another round of research and have picked up the WW1 service record for 8/586 John Hamilton NZEF. On his attestation papers he states 18th months service in the 9th Highland Light Infantry before going to New Zealand for work. Can anyone tell me if records exist for the 9th HL Infantry or where it was located, what it consisted of e.t.c ? Also, as he comes from Scotland (Glasglow) to be precise I was wondering if members could help with any other aspects of his life. I supsect his name is reasonably common, but you never know! I'm also trying to find a photograph of him - but that has been unsuccesful so far. Cheers Grant

(nzef) Posted 5 August , 2010 Author Share Posted 5 August , 2010 Thanks for the info - I had come accross the Glasgow Highlanders site when I was doing some searching - it appears to be a work in progress. Cheers Grant
