Remembered Today:

Soldiers cap badge on forage hat.

Hello Henery,

The badge is a Royal Artillery badge, but there are many variations of the mottos which these badges bear, especially among regional territorial units, so without a really sharp close up it I could not be more precise or certain.

As for the cap, I think this type of cap is either called a Field Service Cap of a Side Cap. I am dubious that it is for the Great War period though. It looks (as his uniform does too) to be from quite a bit later. Perhaps WWII or immediately prior to it.

I hope that helps a bit?

I'm sure someone who really knows will turn up before too long.

Cheers,

Nigel
