Remembered Today:

Strange ww1 leather belt

Has anyone ever come across a belt like this before? I think it might be a sword hanger. The way the shoulder strap hangs under the belt confuses me.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

Kind regards.

Tom.

Tom

It is a sword belt and the two sword slings have been fastened together - they should separate and then you can attach them to the rings on a scabbard.

It looks like a Warrant officers sword belt-still worn today.
