Pte James ALEXANDER 8540 7th Bn, Cameron Highlanders Died 04.09.16 Age 19 Buried: Perth (Wellshill) Cemetery, Perthshire, UK Pte Graham IRVINE 10112 3rd Bn, Scots Guards Died 19.03.18 Age 48 Buried: Hawick (Wilton) Cemetery, Roxburghshire, UK NOT FORGOTTEN Both the above are In From the Cold Project cases (Volunteer: Jim Grant) - Pte Alexander died of pneumonia. - Pte Irvine died post-discharge of a kidney tumour ‘aggravated by active service’. Derek Robertson Posted 27 July , 2010 Share Posted 27 July , 2010 GRAHAM IRVING (No Record of Birth Found) Listed as "Fallen" on the Cavers & Kirkton Roll of Honour which hangs in Cavers Church near Hawick is the name of Pte Graham Irvine, Scots Guards who died in Hawick on the 25-Jul-18 at 23 Dickson Street, Hawick. Age 48. The cause of death given by Dr William Turnbull Barrie as a Malignant Tumour of the Kidney from which he suffered for 12 months. Reported by his brother Robert Irvine of 20 Dickson Street, Hawick Employed as a General Labourer. (details also given on the death extract of Military Career, Private 10112 3rd Battalion Scots Guards. Parents were Fergus Graham Irvine and Susan Mullins. Graham previously served as 8677 Graham Irvine, joining the Scots Guards aged 18 on 7th August 1890. He served in the South Africa Campaign and was discharged to the Reserve after 12 years service in 1912. On recall he re-enlisted at Hawick on 7th September 1914.
