I have a TS s/t shoulder title that according to the book was worn by Tyneside Scots on their greatcoats.

The norm was for the greatcoat insignia to be the bare bones necessary to preserve the rank hierarchy:

no medal ribbons or medals, no skill-at-arms, no 'trade' and no appointment badges with a few exceptions such as drum-major.

Cheers Grumpy. I was particulaly interested to see if shoulder titles were to be expected or not.

I finally got round to Army Order 10/1902 which intro., inter alia, the drab greatcoat. It was intended to have shoulder titles.
