I have a badge of the South Lancashire Regiment of a type they wore on their collars, the Prince of Wales feathers, underneath is the the Regimental motto 'ich dien' under this it says 'Prince of Wales Volunteers',

every other reference to the regiment they are called the 'Prince of Wales's Volunteers'. When did it change from WALES to WALES'S Does anybody know why this should be ?
