sotonmate Posted 1 July , 2010 Share Posted 1 July , 2010 DWY William Collins of the 10th Battalion Hampshires. This Bn was in Dublin shortly after forming in 1914,acc.to the LLT. He landed in Gallipoli as part of 29 Div on 3.10.1915,the Bn landed there in Aug 1915,so he would have been in a replacement batch. Then on to Salonika for some time. Marc Thompson Posted 1 July , 2010 Share Posted 1 July , 2010 19763 Pte William Collins was reported wounded and missing following the action at Kosturino on 7th December 1915. Later confirmed as a prisoner of war and in Bulgarian hands at Philippopolis 30th October 1917 (one of 76) (TNA reference FO383). As far as I can tell he was repatriated in November 1918.
