derekb Posted 27 June , 2010 Share Posted 27 June , 2010 Hello, I have just bought a cased compass, the compass is engraved with " J. RICHARDS-SHANKS" and also "14TH ROYAL SCOTS". In the London Gazette, number 29169, Friday 21 May 1915, I have found "John Richards Shanks " under "to be temporary Second Lieutenants, Dated 20th May 1915". I anyone can help me with any further information or guidance where to look, it would be much appreciated. Regards, Derek.
