No and No. The SWB is a Silver War Badge (awarded for being having been discharged from the army for medical reasons - could be wounds, could be illness). The lists aren't available online. They are like the medal rolls (for which the MIC acts as an index). For an officer, it will list the official number of his badge (they were all numbered), the date on which he was discharged, and the address to which the badge would be sent (generally, though not always, his home address). sandyford Posted 2 July , 2010 Share Posted 2 July , 2010 Bala This picture of N.B. Ramsay was taken as the 6th N.Fusiliers were about to go overseas. He is listed in the War Diary as wounded on the 5th August 1915 when the Battalion were, I believe in the Armentieres area. The 5th August states that the Battalion were engaged inordinary repair work to front trenches, but that the enemy shelled CHARD FARM & LEITH WALK and part of CHARD FARM was knocked down, which exposed parts of LEiTH WALK communication trench to view. In the battle of 2nd Ypres on 26th April 1915 near to St.Julien, N. B. Ramsay is mentioned for the help he gave to Capt the Hon. W. Watson Armstrong of the 7th Battalion.
