Hi

Could anyone tell me what 179 Coy RE were doing and where they were on 7th July 1917.

War diary pages below, sorry they are a bit faint. They lost Sapper Henry Charles Carter Hounslow and also William Henry Allsopp and Charles Henry Hulme attached from 2nd Lincolns on this day who are buried in Brandhoek Military Cemetery. 179 Tunnelling Company were constructing dugouts in preparation for the Third Battle of Ypres.
