Doc2 Posted 24 June , 2010 Share Posted 24 June , 2010 Divisional Receiving Station? There was at least one of these units in Palestine during WW1. I have no other knowledge. Doc
headgardener Posted 24 June , 2010 Share Posted 24 June , 2010 I have always understood it to be 'Dressing Station'.
Sue Light Posted 24 June , 2010 Share Posted 24 June , 2010 It was 'Divisional Rest Station' which admitted sick and lightly-wounded men. Sue
Doc2 Posted 24 June , 2010 Share Posted 24 June , 2010 Sue, it may have varied by nation. The ANZACs in Jordan used the abbreviation for a Divisional Receiving Station. See: http://books.google.be/books?id=7yfxhyvlKt...ion&f=false This book describes its function and relationships to other medical levels of care. Sue Light Posted 24 June , 2010 Share Posted 24 June , 2010 The description of the Divisional Receiving Station seems to describe a forward acute medical unit, similar to an Advanced Dressing Station. So two different names for two very different facilities. I feel sure that a man suffering from impetigo would fit in perfectly to the remit of a Divisional Rest Station.
