Hi

My question is..... Was the wound dressing pocket on the first model of 02 tunics? If not when was it introduced and the reasons for this.

New Zealand made tunics do not have a wound dressing pocket.

Hello

I have a very early SD jacket that according to Joe Sweeney looks to be made prior to sept 1908, may be no later than 1904 to1906...I presented this jacket on this forum one year ago .There is a wound dressing pocket .

I hope this reply can help you?...

Hi PILLBOOX

Thank you for the reply, yes it does help me with a answer the pre war British made Tunics did also have the the wound dressing pocket.

No I just have to workout why NZ made jackets never had one, because our replacement British made Tunics did of course and on the examples i have seen the pockets have been used.

JP,

Actually the early--up to 1907 had two pockets--one in each skirt. One for FFD and the other for the ID Card. The ID card pocket was removed circa Aug 1906.

Canadian SD Jackets retained the two pockets through 1917.
