bts1970 Posted 22 June , 2010 Share Posted 22 June , 2010 Evening The chap below is on my survivers list, as you can see the memorial book states 4th Battalion RIR. His MIC states an arrival in France 19/06/1915 which i believe would mean he wasn`t with the 4th Battalion at the time due to their Garrison of Ireland. Am i correct with my details ? PLUMMER, Lt Bertram. Enlisted: Before 12/02/1915, the North Wilts Herald printed a list of enlisted Purton men on this date. MIC details / Medal entitlement. 4th (Extra reserve) Battalion Royal Irish Regiment. British War Medal, Victory Medal, 15 Star. 19/06/1915 Arrived in France (Detail from MIC). (This does not fit with the 4th Battalion as they were on duty in Ireland and England). Address given as Hermitage, near Newbury, Berks. Evidence for inclusion on the Purton Parish list: Name listed in the Memorial book in St Mary’s Church (4th Battalion RIR and Royal Engineers).
