Chris_Baker Posted 22 June , 2010 Share Posted 22 June , 2010 I have discovered that a group photo of officers of the 1st Royal Welsh Fusiliers includes Cyril Goldney Hawies Peppé, whome I am currently reserching. If anyone can tell me where that photo might be found, I would be most grateful. Also interested in any press clippings (not "Times", which I have). Peppé was taken POW on 20-21 October 1914 as reported in the battalion war diary.
janecavell Posted 22 June , 2010 Share Posted 22 June , 2010 There's a thumbnail of a picture of 'British Officers photographed while German prisoners of war' here, which says it is taken from 'The Great War' (I can't see any reference to an author, though, so don't know what publication this might mean.) From peering at the caption I gather that Cyril is the one with the tennis racquet?
Chris_Baker Posted 22 June , 2010 Author Share Posted 22 June , 2010 Thanks, poppy3. £4.46 for an image scanned from a journal. Nice work if you can get it, eh?
janecavell Posted 22 June , 2010 Share Posted 22 June , 2010 Yes, I wonder how many they sell? I would be too mean to pay those prices and would try to track down the publication myself even if it took much more than £4.46 worth of my time.
