john gregory Posted 17 June , 2010 Share Posted 17 June , 2010 Has anyone seen overseas chevrons as large as the one's the Notts and Derby man on the right is wearing ?
tocemma Posted 17 June , 2010 Share Posted 17 June , 2010 John, Is it me, or is this chap just really small. Look at the size of his cap, even the cap badge looks big on him! Very small size tunic making the chevrons look oversize. I have never seen any outsized examples, but I have seen smaller versions about two thirds of the normal width, with each stripe narrower than usual, as below. john gregory Posted 18 June , 2010 Author Share Posted 18 June , 2010 The chap does look on the smallish size but it is the thickness of the chevrons I think is unsual.

Muerrisch Posted 18 June , 2010 Share Posted 18 June , 2010 Non-standard badges of all sorts abounded during the war ........ I have several adverts/ parts of catalogues devoted to these. Unfortunately, I don't have one late published enough to offer the chevrons in question.
