mtaylor Posted 13 June , 2010 Share Posted 13 June , 2010 The attached photo shows a group of RSF, their two Vickers Guns and an officer of the Machine Gun Corps or School of Musketry by his cap badge (sorry I can't improve on the image). There is a distinctive lack of 'active service' equipment and I'm wondering if this is a post war photo. Any suggestions welcome.
sotonmate Posted 13 June , 2010 Share Posted 13 June , 2010 mt If a post war photo surely someone (at least the Officer if all the others were rookies) would have medal ribbons ? Sotonmate
mtaylor Posted 15 June , 2010 Author Share Posted 15 June , 2010 Thanks. I hadn't thought of that. Would battalion machine gunners retain their cap badges / titles? Its's a shame the officer's cap badge is indistinct. It'ds definitely crossed weapons but whether MGs (=MGC) or rifles (=School of Musketry) I can't tell. I wondered if it might be one of the machine gun schools. They do look a rather tidy bunch.
