Guest LordXerxes Posted 7 June , 2010 Share Posted 7 June , 2010 I wonder if someone would be kind enough to take a look at the attached photograph and see if they can recognise the regiment? The relative I am researching was born in Glasgow but may have been living on Humberside about the time the photograph was taken. Many thanks

East Yorks would have to be a good bet based on the Humberside connection, but the pic isn't very clear so it's difficult to be certain. Photo probably taken about 1925-ish. JCR Posted 7 June , 2010 Share Posted 7 June , 2010 I'm going with the East Yorkshires. Shape looks right, and location would agree with it.

Steven Broomfield Posted 7 June , 2010 Share Posted 7 June , 2010 Sergeant on the left (with the soup strainer) - is than an MM? Post-war, of course.
Guest LordXerxes Posted 8 June , 2010 Share Posted 8 June , 2010 Thank you all for your help. My ancestor, L.Cpl William McGinnis is not on this part of the picture because it has been folded and creased badly - right near him. The actual image is much larger than this and better detailed, but I have had to reduce it greatly to comply with posting requirements. The only clue on the picture is where someone has written his name and then 'B Coy'. Once again, many thanks.
