janecavell Posted 4 June , 2010 Share Posted 4 June , 2010 Hi Steve and welcome to the Forum, but I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place for a question about the 1950s, as this Forum is devoted to the First World War. Someone else might be able to point you to a more appropriate forum. Good luck with your searches Jane P.S. could the word with 'RE' in it be just RE on its own? That would stand for Royal Engineers ('Spr' is short for Sapper which is a rank in the Royal Engineers).
HERITAGE PLUS Posted 4 June , 2010 Share Posted 4 June , 2010 Steven The Medal you have is the General Service Medal. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Service_Medal_(1962) and http://www.britains-smallwars.com/cyprus/index.html Dave
