Hello members

I am very new to this and i apologise if it is the wrong place but i am trying to get information about the

dei gratia medal i found in my fathers draw.

on the edge of the medal it has 23363491 spr .j. fitzpatrick and something ilegible but there is re in it.

I know he served in cyprus approx 1955 but that is all i know.

can anyone shed any further light.

Kind Regards

steve

Hi Steve and welcome to the Forum, but I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place for a question about the 1950s, as this Forum is devoted to the First World War. Someone else might be able to point you to a more appropriate forum.

Good luck with your searches

Jane :poppy:

P.S. could the word with 'RE' in it be just RE on its own? That would stand for Royal Engineers ('Spr' is short for Sapper which is a rank in the Royal Engineers).
