MartinThwaite Posted 2 June , 2010 Share Posted 2 June , 2010 Hello Pals, LLT gives an excellent account of the actions of 42(East Lancs) Div, the first TF Div deployed overseas in 1914 and of particular interest to me 1/5 Lancashire Fusiliers. My question is did 1/5 LF and indeed the rest of the Div qualify for the 1914 Star??? All the best, Martin
horatio2 Posted 2 June , 2010 Share Posted 2 June , 2010 1914 Star was for France and Belgium only, so - if in Egypt - no.

per ardua per mare per terram Posted 2 June , 2010 Share Posted 2 June , 2010 The 1914 Star was designated specifically to exclude people outside the nominated are, even if they had been in action. It was also restricted to those meeting certain conditions even if they were in France and Belgium.
