nigelcave Posted 23 May , 2010 Share Posted 23 May , 2010 Phillip Robinson and I are engaged in writing a series of Battleground Europe books on the war underground, the first on the Vimy Ridge/Arras sector. The shoulder patch for the tunnellers was a T. I know that the colour could vary - eg Australian tunnellers might have a red or a black T patch. Can anyone help us out by giving some rather more detailed information; not only colours but who wore it, when it was introduced etc etc. It would be much appreciated. scottmarchand Posted 23 May , 2010 Share Posted 23 May , 2010 the Canadian corps had three tunnelling companies, 1,2&3, the first had a black 'T' on a red square field, the 2 & 3 had a red 'T' alone on their tunics. Sorry, no pics of those in use but I think I have a picture of a Canadian tunnelers helemt in a museum - I'll see if I can dig it out.
