JulianB Posted 22 May , 2010 Author Share Posted 22 May , 2010 FG - thanks v much, I've sent you a PM. Looking at these medals I'm also wondering what qualified a recipient of the various Coronation etc medals ?? My g'father had Geo V Jubilee, Geo VI Coronation and Eliz II Coronation ! - Would these be listed anywhere or were they just doled out !? Is there a "medal card index" for the 2nd WW similar to that for the 1st ?
ForeignGong Posted 23 May , 2010 Share Posted 23 May , 2010 Julian Have sent you a PM with answer. Coro & Jub medals are listed at NA but you have to look up names yourself. I have had some luck using researchers as I am in Western Australia & it's a bit hard getting to Kew from here. Peter
per ardua per mare per terram Posted 24 May , 2010 Share Posted 24 May , 2010 The only information for WW2 medals available so far is for the Merchant Navy. Details for the Coronation & Jubilee medals are in rolls in the UK National Archives library.
