Does anybody have any info on the Lincoln RFA (presumably part of the 46th Division). I am particularly interested in medal rolls/pre-war lists.

There are 3 Batteries listed being Lincolnshire and RFA in the Army List 1914, all belonging to 1st North Midland Brigade.

1st North Midland Brigade

HQ - Grimsby

1st Lincolnshire Battery - Boston

2nd Lincolnshire Battery - Grimsby

3rd Lincolnshire Battery - Louth

1st North Midland Ammunition Column - Grimsby

They were part of the 46th (North Midland) Divisional Artillery. They remained with that Division from 1914 to 1918.

In May 1916 the Brigade was designated as 230 Brigade RFA.

In August 1916 the Brigade was re-organised and absorbed A/233 Brigade, which became D/230 Battery.

Hope you are well. If it is any use i have large sections of the war diary on cd, and an extract from the Boston paper that Kitch gave me that lists members of the Boston battery. If you email me your address i will copy the diary and send to you.

Just looked on the "Men of Grimsby" website and George Panton (800053) listed as living at 58 Wellington Street. Looks like a misspelling either way.
