GraemeClarke Posted 4 May , 2010 Share Posted 4 May , 2010 Hi On the Walsall RoH is an entry for R. Sanford R.F.A. The index cards to the roll record that he was Driver 33777, 3rd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery and that he died or was killed in Salonika on Wednesday 18 September 1918 and that he resided at Back, 141, Sandwell Street, Walsall. The newspapers printed a picture of him with the initial of A. I cannot trace him at all. I have done the usual SDGW, CWGC, Ancestry, 1911 census etc but nothing. (Also Sandford etc). Does the 3rd Brigade mean anything to anyone ? Where they in Salonica at this time ? Any help much appreciated. Regards, Graeme
