I am trying to find which company of the 11th Battalion Royal Fusiliers a distant relative served in. He was Leslie Hickman Hands who died as a resultof GSW sustained during the attack on Boom Ravine.

Any help appreciated.

PS

No indication on SDGW or CWGC. No apparent service record survives.

Thanks.

I have tried all the usual sources and no reply from the RF Museum so hoped that perhaps someone may have researched the battalion.

Hi

There's a short but quite detailed account of the 11/RF's doings in the attack at Boom Ravine in Trevor Pidgeon's "Boom Ravine" in the Battleground Europe series. C & B Companies seemed to have suffered most

Thanks for that. I have a copy of the book and used it when I walked the Ravine the first time. I intend to go back at the end of June and hoped that if I had his company I could be more precise.

Regards,

Pete
