I'm seeking inforation of where the 1st Battalion of the Royal Irish Regiment for the month of May in 1915. B) Were they in reserves, on the frontline or on R&R? Does anyone have their War Diary for sale?

This Battalion was part of 82 Brigade of 27 Division which was in the Battles of Second Ypres in 1915. The War Diary is at the National Archives under WO95/2266.

They may have been part of all the modes you quote in that month as units were often rotated through duties to give them a break from the Front. They were certainly at the Battle of Frezenberg from 8-13 May.

Do you have specific reasons for wanting to read this ? If you have a soldier you seek it might be fruitful to add his name and number here.
